Title: Pinto Love
Post by: flash041 on October 04, 2010, 06:26:24 PM
Every car show and cruise night I go to with my Pinto , I get the most emotional responces. Mostly BIG smiles and the "I had one of those".Last thursday I was at a cruise night and a couple came over to look at my car. The woman was almost in tears , as my car brought back memories of her orange Pinto from her earlier years. She said " I think I am going to faint" . You could tell the feeling was REAL. It makes mefeel good that my car can envoke such strong feelings and memories , and make people happy.Just goes to show you that silly quote we all have heard, "the car that everone bought , but no one loved" is pure B.S.! Btw, the couple were driving a90,000 Cobra replica.

AMEN!!!  It helps having one of only two Pintos that make most of the shows in WI  ;D  or at least the SE part.

See ya in a couple of weeks when once again, you and I will be the only two Pinto's there

Just this past Sunday I went to a local mustang club car meet. I was put out in the special display section away from the rest of the crowd for winning an award at their fall show a few weeks back. I was not allowed to be voted on and was in the showcase for honorable mention. During the show they play old car commercials, it was a real surprise when I heard the intro to "meet the Pinto" over the loudspeaker. Nicve to be respected by the Mustang faithful, Pintos rule.

I can say I have wanted a cool car to toy with and fix up for some time. I never really gave pinto a thought. I was looking at maverick and vegas and esp. the stangII. But now that I have purchased dolly, my yellow 77 pinto wagon, I am falling in love! It is also cool I have to say when I stopped at the garage this morning, I had 8 guys and three women all talking about my "cool wagon". I had a kid say "damn, I would drive that wagon in a hart beat! That thing is awesome!!' LOL. Makes me feel very proud to be this cars owner! I am loving it! I cant wait for future comments and conversations and reactions to my Lil Pony!!

I drove the station wagon to work all of last week, and this older couple in their sixties came up to the counter and ordered their food, ending it with "do you happen to know who owns that BEAUTIFUL piece of american history Ford Pinto?!". The order taker came back to the office to get me and we chatted about the Pintos for a good 15 minutes. Before they left we chatted for another. Ten minutes about their old Pinto and I let them know about fordpinto.com and the Stampede. They seemed very interested and want to come back to see my 78 sedan!

My new leadworker realized yesterday that the red Pinto in the parking lot at work was mine. He got all excited and proceeded to tell me about a wagon he once had... a dark green early wagon with a manual transmission and avocado green interior. Sound familiar!? Ha! I'll bet his didn't have astroturf carpeting...lol
