Title: Is anybody running this valve cover? Whats the hole for?
Post by: Pinto5.0 on September 25, 2010, 04:43:31 PM
I picked this up for Callisto & in all the pics of turbo cars the small hole is open. I assume its an atmospheric vent to release excess pressure from boost but I am running it sans turbo. Should it be left open or plugged?

I've been running this cover for years on my normally aspirated 2.3 with a small guaze type filter. Both valve covers I have, have a 3/8 tube pressed n that hole. I painted mine with Krylon wrinkle paint to resemble the factory finish. JT  :)

At the least I was gonna squeeze a chunk of filter foam in there for peace of mind.   I want to look into powdercoating it chrome & filling the recessed area with bright yellow engine paint to match the block. My 9 year old wants it yellow. It should look killer against the black.
