Well, a year later and my pinto was actually on the road.. for a little while... Like 2 weeks..
I dont know why or how, but somehow, somewhere from it just sitting there.. something is wrong with my wiring. I have burned out 3 alternators.
Now, I dont know how wiring can go bad from just sitting there as I never had this problem before i replaced the motor.. but regardless, Ive gone over everything that i can with my knowledge and cannot figure it out. Sure the wiring looks a little rough, but I dont see any obvious flaws..
Regardless, I guess the next step would be to get a wiring harness...
However I have had pretty much no luck finding one... none in the salvage yard in this area. Not that I would trust them as the sun here and heat pretty much roaches them after 15 years of sitting in a scrap yard.
So I need you help... 1978 pinto, 2.3l.... all original.
Only thing I even messed with on the wiring was putting gauges in and that was just to a 12v source on the fuse box for the lights.
Does anyone know where i can get a wiring harness? Does someone have on I could buy that is in decent shape?
I really need to get this car back on the road...
Or hell if anyone is in the area, I could use some sagely advice if you happen to pass through.
what part do you need? under hood , under dash, or body? i have one out from a 79 sedan.
phil
I think under the hood. I dont know why the stuff under the dash would have gone bad. The stuff all worked back before I pulled the motor. The only thing I touched was the stuff under the hood...
But then again, I might need the stuff under the dash too ya know...
Can we work out some sort of deal?
