Title: replacing clutch cable

Does anybody have any tricks for removing the clutch cable from the friewall on a an 80 Pinto?

you'll need patience and a pair of pliers and maybe a screwdriver for the inside retainer part, a soft Nerf football so when you feel like throwing something it won't do much damage, and last a good Chiropractor for the day after.

YES!!!!!
An easy trick.
10 inch piece id 1/2" electrical conduit.
Slip the conduit over the cabel end and tap with hammer.
Comes right out!!

Hose clamp works too. I really like Tonys idea though.

Thanks for the ideas to all. My son (poemboy5) actually entered this post while I was trying to remove the cable. I did finally get it out with my son's help and replaced, but I will certainly get a piece of conduit and keep it around for the next time!! I have also had someone else mentiion the hose clamp method so I'll keep that in mind, as well!! Thanks again for the valuable input!!  :)
