i have a maverick rear end. i have heard that this is a direct bolt on. is that true?
I have a 8" Maverick in my '76 SW & in my case it was a direct bolt in with no mods needed.
There are some differences that could be minor in your case. From the link below, the Maverick bolt pattern is 4 on a 4-1/2" circle (I thought 5 on 4-1/2" was available also but it is not shown) while the Pinto has 4 on a 4-1/4" circle (redrill or replace axles to get desired bolt pattern). From reading here on the forum, I believe the spring purch may need some modification too.

I apologize, I didn't realize he was looking for a four lug pattern.
The one I used is a standard Ford 8" with a removeable carrier assy.
with a 5 on 4 1/2 pattern.
my maverick is a 5 bolt as well
