Title: Radiator for V-8?
Post by: randyg on September 05, 2010, 09:36:17 PM
My small block 71 runs really hot in a short time. When I first built it I used a new 65 Mustang radiator with an electric fan in front. I need to know what other V-8 Pintos are running.
Thanks
Randy

I picked up a Griffen aluminum 2 core street rod radiator for mine. Ebay had it for $119 bucks new & its supposed to cool a 450 HP SBF in an enclosed engine bay. It measures 22"x19"x3" thick & I am going to use a factory GM Cavalier/Ecotec shrouded fan to cool it. Ill go bigger if I need to but I think Ill be fine with a 350 HP 302.

The outlets are on the correct side for Ford & Ill make the shroud a little larger to hit the top & bottom of the radiator.

I'm running a Jegs Aluminum Ford Radiator.  I think i measures 19x22 and is a 1" wide two core.  I have a 347 Stroker that makes 478 that it sits in front of.  I put a 12" fan on it.  Its drag only though.
