I am just getting started on my 1977 Pinto Cruisin wagon. It's one of the silver ones with the disco stripes. It spent probably ten years as an old man's car. The carpet is worn down to steel in the front and it has some 80s mustang seats installed that look like they have seen better days. Someone replaced all the gauges in the rally panel which means that there is no fuel gauge now. Fortunately I found a replacement. I first saw the car around 5 years ago and the guy wanted $1000. He claimed it was worth $2500 on eBay. I passed on the price and the fact that it had a 2.8 auto and no A/C. I was looking for a 2.3 manual at the time. Being in the Nevada desert, A/C is really nice too. The guy traded it for an old motor home at an auto repair place. In this small town , I watched it change hands a couple of times before I saw it on craislist "moving, must sell this week" I picked it up for $200 on the last day and towed it home. The last owners intended to restore it and included lots of extra parts including a dealer installed A/C system. I am in need of the plastic diverter(?) that attaches the A/C box to the vents. Anyone have one? The Nevada sun took care of the one I have. The car runs and drives but needs lots of TLC. I hope to have it on the road soon as a parts hauler/daily driver.
Congratulations on your new wagon! I don't have the parts you need but Fred Morgan should. Good luck with your new treasure! ;D
Sounds like a good find at a great price. You've come to the right place... if these folks can't help you, nobody can!

It's amazing how the wrecking yards have changed in the last 20 years. There used to be rows and rows of pintos. They have now been replaced by rows and rows of escorts. I guess that will be the focus section in another 10 years. If you need escort parts, better get them now!
I gave away lots of pinto parts 20 years ago that I could sure use today....
