I noticed the windshield trim on my 79 was looking bent so I checked it out closer. Found a spot of rust there so I removed all the trim and I'm glad I did. On the 79 and 80 models, the windshield is glued into the windshield opening unlike the older models and theres a good sized gap around the edge of the glass. On my car, it was filled with wet and rotting tree material from sitting under trees many years ago. Stuff like that could encourage rust in some areas that would be hard to fix later. Might be a good idea to remove all your metal trim and clean and inspect underneath for rust.
