Recently picked up a 1979 Runabout with 12,000 original miles. Older woman who bought it new ran into her garage while putting it away, and that scared her so much she seldom drove it again. Interior is great. Exterior paint is oxidized, but a friend at a local body shop says he can buff it out just fine. Did a basic tune-up and changed all fluids except transmission (and will do that later), and it ran great. Had original plugs and tires! I love this cool little car! I'll try to post a pic, but that seems difficult to do on this site.

Thanks, Blupinto, for the kind words. I think this is going to be a fun car. I'll now try to post a picture of the back of the car. The picture doesn't show it, but I just got my personalized plates: XPLODE. I was really surprised the Iowa DMV allowed this plate!
