I'm wondering if the exhaust pipe from the catalytic convert back to the muffler on a 79 Mustang II sedan is the same as the 78 Pinto sedan. The one at the junk yard has been cut at the cat and is hanging by the rubber hanger/insulator above the axle. It would be easy for me to remove. Then I would just have to weld it to my current muffler and keep the muffler on it as a spare. That would beat paying the exhaust shop $40 for new pipe and welding, where I can purchase this section for $20.
