Title: C4 stall ?
Post by: STREETREBEL on August 18, 2010, 08:52:47 AM
Just thought someone could give me an opinion on what stall I need to purchase
for my Pinto. 302 around 300- 400 horse, small cam.
I'm thinking 2500. The car is so light, I think  I would have to buy a 3500 just to
get a real 2500 stall. Anyone with real life experience?

I have a 3400 stall in my Turbo car ( about 380 hp ). works great on the street or the track.

I have a mustang II bell, convertor and flexplate setup for my car. I thought about getting a TCI street fighter but they were way expensive.I called EDGE convertors in simi Valley calif and they set me up over the phone with a custom convertor.I think it was around $380 total. It acts like a stock convertor at idle and right off idle all the way to cruising speed. However when i punch it it just blows the tires away! I HIGHLY recommend a custom convertor. And also HIGHLY recommend EDGE as well.

Does your car stall to the advertised rate or less?
These cars are so light I wouldn't think a 2500 stall would stall that high.

My converter stalls very close to its advertised 3400. Better yet, it flashes when I am in high gear low rpm and realy gets the car moving. Feels like a sling shot  :)   ;D

Thanks for the link.
If you don't mind me asking, what does your car run in the 1/4?
