Title: Leaking pinion seal
Post by: Bobcat Racer on August 16, 2010, 09:57:05 AM
Hi All,
I've got a 6.75" rear end in my project Bobcat and after rolling it out of the garage to clean the floor and then rolling it back in to put it back up on jackstands I noticed a small puddle of gear oil underneath the pumpkin.  The pinion seal is leaking and I'm curious how difficult it is to replace.  If I remove the diff and pinion to replace, won't I need to set the backlash when putting it all back together?  Also, is there a quick and dirty fix for this?  I only need it to be leak free for two days of driving.
Thanks!
