i don't want to sound like a stick in the mud. I don't want to cause any trouble. But why is the 40th birthday of the pinto NOT listed on Carlisle events website? I see a little a little bit of every thing else. A co-worker pointed this out to me in front of my BOSS. I told him to cheak out fordpinto.com for info.
ya know the saying, "Some days your the dog, Some days your the hydrant." Well,Today I felt like the hydrant.
Maybe we should have stickers made of Calvin peeing on a pinto  Keep chuggin Dream, soon Pintos will come from all over and they will converge on carlisle. It will be a beautiful thing. Clean ones, fast ones, rusty ones, towed ones, all beautiful. You know, it seems when I go to car shows and people flock around my Pinto, and they don't around alot of the vettes and stangs on display, I can see and feel the resentment. But you know being a car guy is not about status, that is for the trophy hogs and the trailer queens. I have a neighbor here in NYC who lives in the building I manage, he is beyond wealthy, he has two Rolls royces, and a Bentley convertible. he has a house in the Hamptons and is part of the realy rich crowd. he works on his car from midnight to around 3 am every night, cleaning and polishing every part until it gleams. his freinds would frown upon what he does, after all, that is for the help. But he is a car guy, I bring this up because he understands our passion for the Pinto. He doesn't own one, he likes the Rolls, but we talk cars, can yo see it a Pinto next to a $350,000.00 Rolls Royce and we are comparing stories. Hell he has helped me on several occasions polish Blue Up. So what i am saying is, those that understand dont' need to have it explained to them. Keep the faith, we may still have our day in the sun, we are working on it. The best thing is to pre-register. The more Pintos they see confirmed will make believers out of them all.
This is so true!!! If you could've seen the faces of the people who were charmed by Ruby at the Vista Rod Run you'd be SO a believer! Picture it: gleaming classic cars- stock and souped up- everywhere you look... then you stumble upon the lone Pinto, who also happens to be the lone "not-so-shiny" car at the event... and just watch the faces of folks as they spot the lil' red-headed stepchild amongst the $$$ jewels and watch the smiles appear. My heart soared with every smile I saw. Then there's the "My first car was a Pinto!" stories... DreamBean, keep the faith. Even if they don't do it, think of the Pinto Peeps you'll meet at the show! ;D
See, You guys are what make this website so dam great! I have seen so many people get whiplash from turning to see the Pinto. And I cannot count the times someone has asked "do ya wanna sell it?" They don't understand when I tell them "Yea, A million like it is,Two million if I paint it"
BUT, I did tell the boss about the Rollin' in my pinto video. He got a kick out of it. And I am sure he will be snooping around here some where. Maybe he will catch the fever and buy one.
Crap... I still need to email you that song. I will look at my home PC tonite or tomorrow & see if I still have them on it & then send them to you if I do. I even have a few others I downloaded lol.
