Title: Rear axle out of alignment
Post by: r4pinto on August 01, 2010, 03:31:04 PM
I got my 77 sedan that I have been working on restoring & when I bought the car the left rear leaf spring was broken & caused the left rear to drift & hit the rear fender. I replaced the leaf spring & never thought anything of it, but noticed the left rear wheel is not centered in the wheel well. The right side is centered but the left is not. What can I do to fix this? How can I fix this? Any help is appreciated :)

I assume you replace the broken spring, not the axle as stated???  Is it possible to put the spring in reversed? The axle locator typically isn't in the center of the spring.  Or, did you get a wagon spring which I believe  are longer?

Anyway, just a few ideas.

LOL, yea Tom you guessed right. I got the replacement spring from a hatch/sedan, so I think I will try swapping it around to see if that helps any. It couldn't hurt to try.
