Hello all,
I'm new in this forum. I was searching for differences between the 2,0 and 2,3 pinto engine but I did not find detailed information about - sorry I'm not very familiar with the 2,3 engine
I 've a 74' Cortina with a 2,0 Pinto engine from Europe.
So far I got information it seems to me that the European 2,0Pinto engine is the same as the 2,0 that was used at the first Pinto's from 1970-1974.
Do the later 2,3 engine used in the Pinto have the same block as the 2,0 only with bigger bore and stroke to come up to 2,3?
Better Asking the other way:
Do the Crankshaft and Rods fits with slightly 2,0 oversize pistons into the original 2,0block?
Do both crankshafts have the same length?
If not is there any stroker kit for the 2,0Pinto engine available?
Thanks
g
Nothing between the 2.0 and 2.3 will interchange as far as what you want to do.
You can stroke a 2.0 to a 2.1 or even a 2.4... :P but there is $$$ involved. So I wont take up much space here I will just post the link and you can read for your self.
