We road raced our pinto for the first time. It has 500lb racer walsh spring on the front with a 15/16 front sway bar and stock springs in the back.
This thing is awesome as long as you are giving it gas ALL the way around the turn. Trail a little brake going in, or let off the gas, and it whips a u-turn!!!
It makes changing lines, or avoiding another guy spinning out, and impossibility.
Any help you racers could give the new racers would be greatly appreciated.
Consult With Richard Elliot, Brian Walsh (Yes Racer Walsh Co) or anyone who Like me has learned to tame the "wag & spin". We're all here on this site...
I don't know how anyone else solved this problem but I had a stiff front end coupled with a very loosely damped & sprung rear.
I used a single rear leaf, de-arched & of a decidedly lower stiffness with konis set all the way 'loose' at the rear with a 1 1/16" bar in front & no bar at the rear.
The car was extremely predictable & very tossable (is that a word?) & with that setup it was a dream @ most any speed & since it was also my daily driver it made LA streets somewhat acceptable.
Sorry i can't help you in this matter as i don't know anything about it.But i hope someone will help you out very soon as it is a best forum for providing better solutions very quickly..So don't loose hope and wait for the right time.. :)
