Well i just found out the hard way that a maverick tail light lens and a bobcat lens are different even though they have the same part number.
The specific difference of the 2 is the fact that the back up light clear area is larger and above and below the clear part the lens the outer plastic doesn't have the dimpled in areas to clear the screw holes.
So i took a grinder too the lens and made it fit because my original one had a crack and well till i can find a real bobcat lens its gotta look better.
Figured id just let yall know they arent the same. LOL
ok. the housings will interchang with a bit of modifying as i have bobcat tail lights on my maverick.
phil
the housing would prolly be a direct bolt on if you want the pinto light look but as for the lens they are a little diffrent atleast if your putting a maverick lens into the bobcat housing.
Ok I'm trippin'... I remember Maverick taillights looking similar to '71-'76 Pinto taillights but Bobcat taillights?!? They're a tad longer, no?
no .... alot longer double in lsize they have 2 lenses but one set is reflecters only
that is where the modifying has to be done, eather cut a stud off or drill a hole.
phil
Ahhh, ok lol.
here is a set of pic that show the differance

Now it begs the question... why swap Maverick lights for Bobcat lights on a Maverick?
because i had them , it makes the car look different , so you could ask why....... and why not
phil
Ooooo-kay! ???
can you tell i have kids?
HA! I should've known! That IS a dad thing! lol.
So does that make it a Bobrick or a Mavcat??
hummm....... good question ummm mavcat i guesss sence there is more maverick than bobcat, but i am looking at buying a 72 comet for scrap price as it has been sitting in a feild for 7-10 years. and changing more then who know what it will be.
