Title: Is NE1 running secondary tranny oil cooler?
Post by: 78_starsky on July 11, 2010, 01:25:03 PM
I have a 91 parts truck that has a good condition tranny cooler. (small enough to mount in front of Pinto rad)  I was wondering if anyone has installed a tranny cooler on their cars, and if so could you post a pic or 2 of where you mounted it for best air flow?  I am thinking of drilling into the center post and mounting it on the drivers side.  I will post a pic tonight of where I am thinking of doing this.  wanted to confirm area with others who may have done this to thier cars.

thanks

This car came with 4 spd so some guy mounted it here [not a very good job] he installed an automatic for his wife.  Fred   :)

thanks fred,  why does that picture scare me???  I don't know about you but, I would be afraid to be driving that over a bumpy road and not knowing that the wire snapped (unless it is secured somewhere else that isn't shown) and the cooler is dragging on the ground.  you would cook the tranny in minutes after you sprung a leak.

I hope you have fixed that placement  :)   that placement area would work, looks like air flow is ample.

thanks
