This is something I read in AutoWeek Magazine dated 2-21-05.
Get a tax break and embarass yourself at the same time.
The vehicle doation processing center is searching for AMERICA'S UGLIEST CAR. It will select three winners on March 1: First place is honored with the Gold Pinto Award, second recieves the Silver Pacer, third takes the Bronze Gremlin. Besides the tax deduction benefit, the official release says "(car donation is) a fun way to make fun of people with really disgusting means of getting around town." I'm sure this was a mistake, it should have been a Gold Vega award for first place.  :o

Shouldn't it have been the golden Aztek? Any car that sold well couldn't be completely ugly... And definitely not Pintos (of course, I like the looks of early Vegas, too..).

I know what you mean about the Aztek. I also know about the Vegas, I knew acouple of guys that had them when we were in High School and I thought they looked okay. One of them had been modified and was pretty fast. I also knew a guy that had a v8 Vega that looked all stock. He used to pull a ski boat with it. Talk about strange looks on the launch ramp when a Vega towing a boat pulled up. I am pretty much accepting of most cars, As far as  people, most gearheads will help out other gearheads no matter what kind of car is involved as long as progress can be made and wrenches can be turned all while talking cars and having a good time. What do you think?

I am not typing inferior in front of the other make of car. I guess that must be something built into the site.
