How would I find out the spring rates for a 1978 2.3 hatch w/o air conditioning and a 1975 2.3 hatch that came with air conditioning? Thanks.
First of all, look up the MOOG spring part number on Rockauto.com for both cars you wish to compare.
Look up the MOOG part number here and see the tech specs:

The spring rates used on the Pinto are quite high it seems...
The front springs of the 78 sedan w/o air are 352 lbs/in, which explain why it rides firm but handles well.
Thanks.
