Title: Why a double hump trans crossmember on a 4 cylinder car?
Post by: russosborne on July 04, 2010, 03:35:42 AM
At least on the Mustang IIs these were only used on the V6/V8 cars. I was really surprised to see one on my car tonight. It is just a 4 banger. Who would put dual exhaust on a 4banger?

Thanks,
Russ

Oh. Ok. Thanks.
On the IIs the 4 cylinders only got a single hump. The double hump is a highly desired thing for people swapping in a V8 on those cars. Guess I should go ahead and sell the one I kept from the II since I won't need it on this car.

Well....Mopar would.  My SRT-4 came from the factory with a big single off the turbo that splits into two at the rear axle.  Oh...and there are no mufflers, just a resonator.  Not true duals, but you should hear the exhaust note...
