Title: 79 battery tray area-how much of that is necessary?
Post by: russosborne on July 03, 2010, 12:31:01 PM
If I don't put the battery there that is?
Is there enough room to just cut it out(mine is very bad) and put a flat piece there, or would that cause interference with the suspension?

Hope this makes sense. Maybe making it smooth instead of having the bump where the battery sits makes more sense as a question. It would be much easier, which makes me think it won't work.

Thanks,
Russ

If you look at my project post on my 78 bobcat i cut pretty much the most that i would feel comfortable removing without hitting anything. Theres a few pics up.

Ok, didnt notice that the first time I looked. I was overcome by the blue interior. :-)
About how much of the "ledge" did you leave? Looks like maybe 4 inches, but hard to tell from a picture.
Thanks,
Russ

Thanks. I am not going the turbo route(at least not this time) but I like having as much room as possible to work. That is why I am not putting a V8 in.
