Title: Engine Swap
Post by: Joecoolami on February 23, 2005, 07:15:27 PM
Hey again, considering swapping out my 2000cc engine for something better. I'm looking for something that would just probably bolt in, and am wondering what would be the best suggested engines for an easy swap. I was origonally thinking a 2.3 out of a Pinto I found at a junkyard, but if anyone has a better idea, or knows of a better swap that would probably be as easy as the 2.3 please, fill me in. I'm just looking for simple info as in to what parts would need replacing/modifying, and what engine. Thanks again.

Personally, I'm not so sure a 2.3 is enough better to be worth the work. If you could find a V6/C4, I think you would find that more worth the work. I'm not totally sure, but I think the Aerostar V6 bolts up the same as the Pinto/Mustang II V6.

What new parts (transmission, differential, etc..) would I need and out of what car would it be best to get the engine from? Sorry I'm so full of questions here, but I'm still rather new to this.
