As the question asks, during what years were the CWs made?
I have found a 79-80 CW, and a derelict 74-75 Squire wagon, and would like to put the frontend of the 74-75 on the 79-80.
Would it stick out like a sore thumb, or look like something that was actually factory?
I just saw an in-work CW with the earlier frontend on the site and got to wondering.
Thanks,
Mike
77-80 is the years they were made ( i think). No Idea about the front end situation
I saw the "after" pics of the car "77wagon" and it was indeed a '77.
The pics I first saw were some with the light buckets off.
I think my proposed endevour is justified in that I would be saving two cars from the crusher.
One to drive and one to (maybe) part out to others who need the stuff.
I don't think it would "stick out like a sore thumb". While not factory correct, most people other than true Pinto fans wouldn't know that. If it makes you happy, go for it!

I saw a '76 front end transplanted on a CW once and knew it was not factory, yet liked it very much. Nothing wrong with a "mix-n-match", and few would know the difference.

I have seen a couple early thin bumper wagons that have CW panels installed over the windows. If I were after a wagon I think thats what I would build except I want a panel without the portholes....
Why the lack of love for square headlight Pintos? :(

I cannot say exactly why, but I prefer the 77-78 style. That said, I do have a 79 CW. The look has grown on me the longer I have it. I will give them credit, they managed to tone down the bumpers a bit in 1979-80 imo.

No lack of love, I just find the older flat fronts more appealing to me, same with the Camaros, Vegas, etc...
