Lets see if we have a $100,000 Pinto out there mine is worth `that to me but not on paper!
Let's put it this way. Sold today, I would probably get less than half of what's been spent because it's under construction. Once it's done, I would hope to get more - and given the level I am going to with this indepth restoration, I think I might.

Where is the $999 and under catagory? :rolleye:
i really couldnt tell ya what mines worth but i do know i wouldnt take less then 3k the way mine sits and once im done with it theres no way id take less then 8k+.
How do you get an appraisal?
I got mine - like new with 40K original miles - for $2,100 on EBAY. But I hear I was extremely lucky. The week before, a superb, low miles, Pinto Squire sold for just over $12K. So $12K is probably near the high end for a normal stock car.
Haggerty has mine covered for 8000.oo. That is full replacement cost so I would check that way.
I checked a "blue book" (not kelly blue book, a different one) value of my 78 sedan and and 73 wagon in their current condition. The 78 was only valued at $700, while the 73 was valued at $1300. The 78 is in way better shape than the 73 too!
Huh. I haven't had mine appraised per se, but my appraisal on my herd is: Priceless. Not For Sale At Any Price. Et cetera, et cetera... ;)
$5 million Becky??????? I think I would give up my herd for that.
Maybe...MAYBE 50 million... ;D

Tink,
If you're in the market, I'll sell you three Lincolns, a Chrysler convertible, a Dodge Durango, an F-150 4x4, AND a Pinto for $5,000,000. Heck... make it cash and I'll throw in a five bedroom house!

Like most classic cars I think these cars are worth as much as a guy is willing to pay for it.
And it might suprise you what some guys will give for these little gems.
I think price is subjective. Ive seen plenty of clean stockers selling for twice what they are worth but there were several bidders getting it there. Modded cars never seem to fetch the money they deserve but there are very few well done ones worth the big bucks.
I paid a grand for my '80 which was probably worth 1500 but I spent 700 on my '77 parts car because it was close to my house. It's worth 500 max but figure the gas & time to do even a 4 hr. round trip to get a cheaper car & its adding to the price. Ive spent over 3 grand so far on cars & parts & I can get that back so its a wash. Ill easily double that by the time Im through. Will it be worth 7K? Only if somebody is willing to pay it.....
Grundy Worldwide has mine insured for 10K, worth it to me!

What he said. Right now mine is worth scrap metal price. Now, once I am done who knows. Some might think that would be too high of a price. :-)
Russ
I was thinking the same thing Russ... Mine is a worthless piece of junk & has no value, except scrap.
my insurance value is $5,000 but i would not sell it for that( way to low), nor do i think it would sell for that( to high).but i might be able to replace it with something close for that.IF i could find another.
