What are some good ways to get your v8 pinto to hook up? I'm going to be building a sprayed AFR headed 306 with a t-5 trans backing it up. I was wanting to know ways to attack the suspension? I will be running M/T drag radials out back and possibly caltracs(anyone running them)?? Will the stock leaf springs be ok, or should they be upgraded? I don't want to cut the car up to four link it, but I do want it to hook. Any input would be appriciated.
Thanks,
Robert
Back in '99, Joe Morgan was running his TurboPinto 10.75 @ 118 with basically stock suspension: http://www.turbopinto.com/images/pinto/turbojoehrmapril99.pdf (http://www.turbopinto.com/images/pinto/turbojoehrmapril99.pdf)

Good deal. We are using the engine setup as one of my buddies foxbody, he has ran a best of 10.80@131, but that car is about 350lbs or so heavier than mine.
Here are a couple related links. Have fun.

I would recommend Cal track suspension parts and springs as a total setup. i have been in a Pinto with over 400 hp and it does hook up. BTW: Great ride.....
Cal track susp/ traction bars or whatever you may want to call them work well. I'm running a traction bar setup on my '78 and it hooks everytime and can be driven down the track with a finger and will run a mid 10 quarter. Soon to be nitrous-injected and with some other minor mods hoping for 10.00 :)

I'm feeling better about this now. I'm going to make the knockoff caltracs and see what happens.
Thanks,
