Need to know and wondering if all years/models of dash pads are the same in dimensions and bolt holes (underneath)? will 72 be the same as 75?
thanks
I'm pretty sure it will be compatible. The dash pad didn't change til '79 model year. The redesigned gauge cluster made it necessary for the '79-'80 models to sport different dash pads.
ok thanks, Perfect... so 71-78 are all the same pad? good to hear that and you will see why in a few weeks :)
thanks
We need to know from people who have taken out their dash pads, if under the pads are all the same. Please tell us the year of your car, and if the underside has 2 lips. one is about 4 inches and the other is roughly 30 inches, these lips are on the opposite side from the mounting bolts. (this is from a 78)
Thanks
My 73 Pinto is using a 78 Pinto dash. so 73-78 must be the same, I would suspect. From what I've heard the past four years, they are and they only changed in 79 to the rectangular gauge cluster.
Thanks, I was just double checking that underneath area.
cheers
No problem! It looks the same as the original one did, minus the faded vinyl and the huge voids of cracks across it. I just painted it and filled in one crack to make it presentable until I can get a cap for it.
