I bought a pinto for 50 Dollars and I keep getting Rust into the carb how can I repair the Fuel tank or where can I get a new one at
Check out this thread from another member with the same trouble. As long as it's not rusted thru the tank can be fixed pretty easily.

I had rust in my tank also.I pulled the tank[came out real easy, almost to easy]and took it to the local radiator shop and had them clean it out. They told me that the tank after 25 years was in real good shape. The rust problem came from the filler pipe,it had rust issues. They coated it with a rubber based liquid.Total charge for the repair,my favorite price FREE.They owed me a favor. So take your tank to your local repair shop and have them check it out.It may be worth it.
When you get the sending unit out don't make a sock. Go to the local Ford Dealer and buy the right sock filter if the tube size is 5/16 the part # is D1FZ-9A011-A, if the tube size is 3/8 the part # is D1AZ-9A011-A . Price is about $16.00. If the float is brass you can also buy the float COAZ-9202-B. Get a new o'ring/gasket part# COAF-9276-A. These parts are still available from Ford if they do not have them they can order them for you.
