I think it would be cool to have a tilt front end, but not really feasable on a street car so I was thinking about having the hood open from the front edge. Has anyone done this before? Problem is, I dont really have the ability to custom make anything. I think there was some 1980s Buicks that had their hood slide forward and then tilt up which was kinda of what I was thinking to do. From what I can tell, I don't see a good place to fit hinges on the radiator support.
One idea is to have the hood maybe pop up an inch or two, then slide forward maybe 2 feet, then pivot up to vertical position. Any ideas?
As a start, I'd go to my local pick-and-pull and check out the '80s & '90s Saabs:

yep, about 1986 to 1991 le sabre and park avenues. tilt forward hoods like a saab.
