Love it!

My plate says 'KBOOM" & "KBOOM2' on my other 72,

I only wish I could do that to a Pinto!

Here is a couple of pics of my new intake, it will go on next spring. F-150 lighning lower and a cobra upper both extrude honed....should be good! Flowsheet says little over 300cfm.

Cool! That should support at least 400-500hp. I think a stock Cobra will support about 400hp w/o honing. Kinda liked your hand built upper. Looked great! What kind of lower did you use?

the lower is a ported truck unit. The custom upper works good but it was meant for high rpms with no runners. The long runners of the cobra upper will help me off the line (bottom end) with more torque down low in the rpm range.

That is one sweet ride!!  I was just wondering what you got your motor out of?  Also, i haven't seen to many 351 swaps, is that because it is a hard swap to do, what all did it entail??

Yea I know about the short and long thing. Did that with my Mustang. Tried out a Comp plastic box upper. You really lose the bottom end but gain on the top side.

The motor is from a '84 F150 i think. but its not stock internally. Lots of go fast goodies in it, for details see the web pages section, under '78 pinto efi. I don't think its any harder than a 289 or 302 swap, but the headers are kinda pricey! For a C4 or C5 tranny (164 tooth flywheel) you will need to hit the firewall with a BFH many times, with a pinto/mustangII tranny (143 i think...not sure) It will go in without the BFH. Mustang II motormounts and trans mount (302) I used a mustang II 302 rad, three row (not the best but it keeps it cool as long as you don't sit and idle for too long) large electric fan mounted in front. We just finished the tranny swap, motor had to come out (not fun trust me) My advice, try not to cut the rad support if at all possible, it makes it very hard to install the engine but there is no flex to the front end if you can leave it in.  Dragstrip this saterday.....FUN! While testing today i'm sure i lifted the front wheels off the ground on launch....with my buddy in the car and on the highway with no traction compound!

My plate says PINTOK  but  twenty years ago when i was young and foolish and bought the plate we were only allowed 6 letters.I wanted PINTOKE (PIN TOKE),but now I'm old and wiser and don't smoke no more, and I think it would be kind of embarassing so now it stands pinto ok.

i hope i can come, my 4:11 gears make it difficult to travel that far, but maybe i can borrow my buddies trailer. When is it and do i need to pre register or anything? Henry, our autofest (St. Thomas) is June 18th to the 20th. Saturday is an uptown cruise thing and sunday is the car show, cost is $5.00 usually lots of cars, many from the states also.
