Title: 2.0 performance problem?
Post by: 72Wagon on May 16, 2010, 08:23:53 PM
I am having a strange problem, engine seems to have a engine miss but it is not a dead miss. I checked the exhaust temps (one inch out from head on headers) and the 1 and 2 are running at 500 degrees and 3 and 4 are runing 700 degrees.Temp range stays same at different rpm ranges.
The engine is running a 390 holley on a esslinger intake, .100 shaved from head, a pretty radical cam (can't remember specs off the top of my head),recurved stock bosch distributor (points), bottom end pretty much stock.
Any suggestions on what could be causing the temp between front 2 and rear  cylinders? Car runs good otherwise.

All Esslinger intakes (2.0 & 2.3) run pig rich on the center two ports due to their short length in relation to the outside two ports. Not much you can do about it too.
