Ok guys Question I am thinking of a 5lug Conversion for my front disc brakes rear is a 8" 5 lug Or does any body know what kind of Skinny rims I could use up front Running 14"tires on rear 13" up front now. I head somewhere that a granada rotor would work?? is this true ?? How about the caliper??
Got some ideas going around in my head Currently have 5.0 H.o In my 71 c4 8" rear or would maybe a mustang swap might work I guess i need to start measuring rotors.LOL!!
What Radiators are you guys using for v8 swaps??
Thanks
William
Granada rotors work on the Foxbody Mustangs but I don't believe they work on Pinto's. The rotors will interchange between the Mustang II and Pinto's. I do have a pair of 4 lug Centerlines 15" if your interested. They are 15 X 4
Many Street Rod shops/stores have after market 5 stud rotors
available for Pintos.
I found a pair of new 5 lug street rod rotors for Mustang II on Ebay for 50 bucks shipped. Im getting my 8" 4-lug axles redrilled for $120 & Ill redrill the drums myself.
The MII stuff only works on '74 up. Your '71 has different suspension.
thats what i have been noticing even on Jegs and summitt seems like its all 74 and up..
Was looking for some 90/10 front drag shocks..
What kinda radiator are you using for the v8 swap?? .I bought this car it had a 289 in it . I still have not had the car to the track I have a few bugs to work out Gotta set the front end Get some skinnys for the front . I also have heard tbird supercoupe Spare tire rims are aluminum to use the rims for the front.
Anyways this has been a long term project Got the car had kids car has been sitting forever Put 5.0 H.o outta a 86 tBird in it thats the 5.0 roller lifter motor I now have a 289 torker intake on it and a 650 elderbrock And Fenderwell Headers . The radiator was long lost and have one out of a chevy in it !!!LOL!!! it doesnt quite fit like I want it to. I still Have the serpentine belt set up. I need to figure out a way to run the water pump still havent decided If I am gonna run an alternator.
Oh well yak later
i used the granada rotors on my 71 pinto. the granada bearings were a perfect fit. i had to get the caliper brackets for the later model and modify them but the work great i also used montecarlo calipers on it. The swap was not very expensive at all. i used a griffin alum rad a put it on the front of the core support. dont remember the size if you need i can measure it. but she runs really cool with it, i put dual electric fans on it also.
The thread below gives further details on retrofitting the five lug Granda rotors to the earlier Pinto spindles mentioned by smallfryefarm above.
