How do the two pieces stay together? Do you have to weld them, or just press fit, or??? There are no instructions on the Summit site about these. Not used to this type of header.
Not used to the prices either! I used to be able to buy Cyclone Purple Horny headers for my 69 Mustang with a 302 for only $49.99. Guess that is a sign of old age.
Thanks,
Russ
The headers come with two sets of tabs that must be welded to the tubes. A 1/4" bolt then holds the tabs together. Supposedly this allows a little adjustment for floor clearance and flexibility to keep the tubes from cracking. Any muffler shop should be able to handle the tabs when making the exhaust connection. I've run two of the 48030s with no problems. BTW schoenfeld makes a great header gasket for the 2.3. JT
Thanks.
I may (if I go the header route) go with the coated Pacesetter header. The guage of tubing is thicker, and the coating is a good thing. And it is one piece.
Will just have to wait and see. The way things are going I'll be happy just to get it running better. :-)
