I can't believe it, I must be going Mad...Pinto Crazy...Wagon nut's...they are everywhere. I have owned a 73 wagon daily driver, a part time driver 75 wagon, and a 74 wagon parts car for several years now. The other day, a guy called and asked me if I wanted to buy his 74 wagon as he was young and wanted a Muscle car and his old wagon just wasn't a chick magnet like he thinks more power will be ;D Now, I really don't need another Pinto and the Ol lady thinks I'm nut's anyway, but how could I not ask the price at least? I mean, being the respectful sole that I am  you know? Well, now I own another wagon...$200 dollars and he delivered it to my house. I believe a real muscle car is now in order, 302, auto, all the good stuff......When is enough enough? :amazed: So far the other half still let's me sleep in the house.
Well in my case there is no such thing as enough, I am looking for more now. Fred :)
Hehe, I am with Fred. I am still looking! :D I still haven't found my dream Pinto yet! We have so many now that we need to start stacking them! Luckily my hubby is as bad as me and he finds them too! LOL
Now, let's see some pics of the new Pinto!!!!! ;D ;D
5, and a Bobcat. That's enough for me.
The car isn't in bad condition. The interior is that UGLY green (no offense meant) that only the Pinto had. That will change. The tires are brand new as are the brake's and exhaust system. It has a 2300 auto...That is why the thought's of a 302 etc. All in all, the car is a driver just the way it sits. I think I'll just non-op it til I come up with the right plan for it. The price was definitely right! Here are a couple of shot's.
"Pinto's are Cool!"
Wow! What a steal!!! Looks awesome!! Congrats!! ;D
Becky says "one can never have too many Pintos........."
71pintoracer;
I would agree with that 100% although my other half does not agree, as she doesn't think I have any need for more than the 2 we already had. She even thought one "WHAT, A PINTO"
was tooooo many. Now she just looks at me kind of funny like and shakes her head every time the word Pinto is spoken in her presence. Oh well, what does a Pinto wagon lover do, besides buy more Pinto wagon's. Ahhhhhhhhhh, turn one into a full blown hot rod....I can see the commitment papers coming already...what day is it anyway...where's the new wagon... :lost:

How much are you asking for that "ugly green" interior? I need some of that for Meanie! Are the door panels the deluxe with pony? I REALLY need a steering wheel!!! Thank you. ;D
Sorry... by the way, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Like my lil' quote says and Jimmy pointed out... One can never have too many Pintos! ;D
Many Fords suffered from hideous green interiors. 25 years ago I nearly bought a '67 Fairlane GT 390 4-speed car with a southern body, fresh paint & matching #s for $1900.00 but just couldnt get past the green interior. Ive been kicking myself for that one for about 20 years now.....
I suppose beauty- and ugly- are in the eye of the beholder. See, I LOVE the green interiors, avocado AND metallic green! I think that's the biggest reason I won't sell Green Meanie... because of her lovely avocado green interior! Sadly, living in the mountains for most of her life has wreaked havoc on her dashboard, steering wheel, and armrests. Her headliner is in tatters but at least it's still there! lol. So yeah... if anyone wants to sh!tcan their "ugly" green interior pieces give me a holler! ;D
I once owned a '77 Thunderbird with a quite luxurious dark jade green velour interior. Mom had a '73 LTD Brougham with dark green brocade cloth and there was also a Pinto Squire with dark green interior at home back in the seventies. Personally, I think the greens, blues, reds, etc. found in car interiors back then are highly preferable to the generic gray or tan we have to select from today.

A-men!
When I bought my wagon in non running condition with very rough interior, my better half told me "are you happy now? No more!" lol!
She's curious about the progress of it every time I work on it, and supports me getting it done, she knows how much I love working on Pintos, and how much I want to get this wagon done, and into a nice ride. :)
Dont get me wrong, My tastes have changed to the point where I will buy a nice car even if I dont care for the interior color. Back when I was 18 you were ridiculed for a green interior. It was considered a moms car regardless of what was under the hood.
To be honest though....I would never have bought my '80 hatch had it not been for the nearly flawless black interior that greeted me when I opened the door. I was looking for a trunk car but finding a nearly rust free 80K mile garage kept car with a black interior was too much to pass on for a grand, hatch be damned. The 25K 2300 Turbo from a '79 Stang under the hood was a bonus & will find its way into one of my dunebuggies.
No worries... I just love colors... ESPECIALLY '70s colors! lol. How 'bout that orange interior!? lol. The aforementioned avocado? Metallic blue (a favorite of mine!)? Green metallic... the delicious list goes on! I definitely have nothing against black- I have had two early Pintos that had black interiors- but the other colors rock my world too. Threy're just...so '70s. I think a part of the reason I love Pintos is the nostalgia factor. Nothing brings back the '70s like the music and the popular colors- avocado green, golden yellow, burnt orange and brown. Yeee-haaaaa!

When I think 70's, the first image that comes to my mind is the red plaid upholstery in my folks' 1977 Bobcat Villager. Well, that and the orange bell-bottom hip-hugger corduroy pants I used to wear with a paisley shirt and tan pull-over sleeveless sweater ::)... my favorite outfit!
