Title: Mini GT 500 E
Post by: 71ss351 on February 01, 2005, 01:55:30 PM
I have been considering something the past couple of weeks. I was thinking of taking my 71 pinto and turning it into a mini version of a GT 500 E. For the body, I would paint it the same color as eleanor was in gone in 60 seconds, same rims, cougar tail lights and side exhaust kit. If any one has any ideas that I could use for the front bumper that would allow me to install some fog lights I would like to know. for the engine I will take my 351 and stroke and bore it to a 427 small block, which is what the original eleanor had, then have my buddies at the muffler shop make me a set of tri y headers to fit the car, and install a 4 spd. top loader tranny. Every one on the internet has been talking about how to get their mustangs to sound like that car and I think I figured out how. Build the motor up to a 427, use a 302 cam, same firing order as the big block, good set of heads with 2.10 1.625 valves, tri y headers, 2 1/2 inch pipe and 1 chamber flowmasters, no H pipe of X pipe. Let me know how this sounds to you guys

as far as the mechanical end, sounds good to me. To get a small block to sound like Eleanor (which in the movie was just a 351) all you need to do is get it to rev around 6500RPM all day LOL

The front bumper could be a cut down shelby GT350R front valance
