The '77-'80 TRW steering box that I thought would be a bolt in for my '79 wagon with a Ford box isn't. The bolt holes are about 1/2" off. Will cool down first and get back to this project later. Any advice?

I think you can buy offset bushings, and then that part
of it will bolt in. I don't know how it will bolt up to the
column.
Bill
Haul it back to the parts dept. and get the other one.

Right now, I'm toying with chunking my steel inserts on the Smithy 3-in-1 and reaming them out 1/4" oblong and offset.
I believe there are three rack and pinions used. One for the 71-72s, one for the 73s and one for the 74-80s. I ran into that problem as well and it was a hassle to get the correct one. For some reason the interchange books says that all 3 will fit, but they will not. As i said, two are for the earlier cars and one is for the later cars.
