Another artice on Yahoo this time titled "Leganday car flops".The car shown is a 77 hatch. With fuel tank issue aside that car was hardly a flop. The article states that total production was unknown. If the writer of the article , Hannah Elliott , did a little research she would know that over 3 million were made. And that only about 27 people were killed in Pinto fires , not the Hundreds that she says happened. And that they were much safer that foriegn cars at the time. And I dont know where she came up with the figure that it cost Ford more to repair the cars than they spent making them.
Yahoo from MSNBC :showback: from forbes.com. Possibly the most factually incorrect automotive piece that I've ever read.

P.S. Leave 'em a comment!
Typical of a biased media. They don't know what they are talking about.
I'm going to sign up later today to leave a comment or three for them. Geez, I know it has been a long time since Pintos were at the forefront of anyone else's conversations, but this piece is pretty ill informed. I would expect better from Forbes.
Those people just aren't Pinto people like the rest of us....so yes....they can kiss my :showback:
There are cars I would consider a bigger flop. I sold NEW dodge/chrysler/jeeps for 5 years. The Pacifica was a HORRID car, I hated even showing the damn thing to people. Blind spots from hell, electrical nightmare. I totally disagree with the Prowler being on there, fast or not that car just oozes sexy to this day. And although this is only my 2nd Pinto, and both have had V8's, I rather enjoy the little cars.

Why is everyone so surprised? I bought a new 2003 vette and am still amazed by the things Consumer Reports said about it. They want us all to get in our little toyotas or honda mini vans and drive around like a bunch of clones. Never had a ricer, never will!
This story proves you cant trust as truth every thing you see in the news. I dont know if the reporter set out to missinform, or was lazy. It was for sure one of the two or both.
