Title: Rear end question

2.3 motor c-4 tranny  and my rear end has 8 bolt cover on the rear anyone know what gear ratio and what size rear end i have 1977 model

I would say 2.73, 3.04 or 3.40.

Can you get us the tag numbers off the differential cover?

3 - 18 gears in 6.7 diff..  Fred   :)

 Anyone have this center section rebuilt ? Is there parts for this rear end available? bearings ring and pinion ect .....cant find anything on ebay

well for one thing are you searching for 6.7 or 6.75?  6 3/4 might also work for ya.

6.7    3.18 gears is what the tag says Tim I was seaching for 6.7

Would a 1980 2.3 Bobcat have the same rear end ?

the space between the 3 and 18 also is the indicator that this is an open differential... a letter T or L ( i cant remember exactly)  in between the #s would indicate a locker or tracklock...

Ernie check the tag on the 80 they very on instalation of engine and tran's not by year. I have a pile of them here.  Fred   :)

the 80 might have a 8" instead of a 6.75 rear though too ya never know
