Title: Foolish question re: pulling 2.0 engine
Post by: Emmymau on April 26, 2010, 08:47:32 PM
This is the first time I've pulled an engine and left the transmission in the car.  My question is probably elementary, but I'll ask anyway:  is there a preferred (Pinto-specific or not) method for separating the engine from the torque convertor and transmission while doing this?  I don't want to attempt brute force if there's a risk of damaging anything.

i usually just get the torque converter unbolted then use the eginge hoist to put a little tension on the engine then take a pry bar and slide between the torque converter and the flywheel and it shouldnt take much effort to get them to sparate.
