Title: What cars would be good donor cars for a 289?

Was wonderin what cars typicaly came with the 289? Just in case I ever think I want to drop one into a pinto, lol  :o I know what to look for as a donor vehicle.

Mid 60's mustangs & shelby, some falcons had them not all thou

these motors were used till 68 I believe then that was the end of them.  I think they started making them around 62-63

Most 64-68 Mustang, Torino, Falcon, Galaxie, Bronco, Fairlane, maybe Econoline?  The 302 replaced the 289 in late 68.

is the 302 the same size phisically as a 289?
