Title: Request Help Locating A Special 1976 Pinto
Post by: Cookieboystoys on April 22, 2010, 11:33:36 AM
Hello All, I received this request in email today and thought I would post it up to see if we can help locating this special car for him. Below is the email I received, his email to contact and some pictures. As you'll see it's a very special Pinto and if you have ever seen it you will remember it.

I am in need of some help with a very special request.

Here is my story, in 1986 I went through a nasty divorce and had to sell my 1976 Pinto show car and have never stopped thinking about where it could be today.  It had 17,000 original miles and it was sold in Georgia at an auction.  It was a show winner and had tons of modifications done to it.  My son is now 17 and I would like to find the car and give it to him.  I have tried locating it myself but am having trouble locating it.  I tried calling and writing the old auction center but they are no longer in business.  I don't have any of my old paperwork to do a carfax to locate it so I need some help.  I have included some pictures of the car so if you or anyone in the group knows where the car is located I would appreciate any contact information of the new owner.  Even if it is no longer running but is still in good shape I would like to know.

Car Details:   1976 Ford Pinto MPG 2 Door with Trunk

Please contact me via e-mail.

Regards,
James Wait

Wow, that vehicle is a piece of art, it would be >amazing< to unearth that car somewhere. Perhaps it is hiding quietly in storage carefully tucked away for rediscovery. One can hope so!!

someone on TurboPinto.com thinks he may know where the car is and thinks it's for sale so.....

it may have been found already.... That would be uber cool if it's the same car and WOW!  :hypno: a quick find  :amazed:

Title: Pinto Lust

Hey Brian,
Did this guy say he was lusting after his Pinto from days gone by or is it the teen age boy doing the lusting?  Ford should have used this paint scheme on the crusin wagon.

I see a possible father/son project in the works...find a clean Pinto and build a new one...
