i went to put my new hatch light in and...no wiring there and then i noticed the wiring to the buzzer was cut off. i looked in my electric book but not much info on wagons.any suggestions on how to hook them up before i start taking everything apart thanx dave
Dave this is 78 Bobcat 3 wires. Ground blk. positive blk. with blu tracer pos. lt. grn. with ylw tracer this light has switch. Fred :)
so the wiring runs accross the roof? also will the car have the wiring there even if it did not come with light?
Maybe maybe not. Check in the corner. Fred :)
No my knowledge, the wiring is not there unless your wagon has the option. I pulled the wiring from a car in the wrecking yard years ago. If I remember correctly, it ran all the way up to the dash along the pass side.
TIGGER is correct. I pulled the light and wiring from a 78 bobcat wagon at the junk yard last year. It runs along the inside of the passenger side quarter panel(s), under the carpet hold down trim, and (on this specific car I parted out) it also splits to connect to the passenger side door switch for the dome light. All this wiring then leads to a connector above the glove box in the dash.
I only initially wanted the wiring so I could have dome light switches on both doors of my 78, but I ended up pulling all of it to ensure I didn't get lost i the wiring somewhere later on.
thanx everybody! as i just found out mine does not have the wiring so if anybody has it i would like to buy it. thanx dave
Dave when the add run's out next month I will have the wiring. Funny wire in this car goes to left side not right. Fred :)
