While emptying the interior of my 77 Bobcat HB (Prepping for a floor installation article for Pinto Times...) I encountered something I hadn't seen before in a Bobcat or Pinto. On the floor of the hatch area there are three anchors, two up against the hinged part of the rear seatback, and one between the rearmost lip of the spare tire well and the rear hatch. They look to be factory welded and have blacky vinyl straps (seatbelt material I believe) with buckles. They almost look like cargo tie downs. They aren't part of the spare tire apparatus and they were under the carpet, which is why I'd not seen them in this car before I pulled the carpet. Any ideas?
Storage tie down for removable factory sunroof.
Well that makes sense, but I never would have guessed it. Thanks a bunch!
