Title: Help with wiring harness for a 71 2.3/turbo swap
Post by: oldramman on January 21, 2005, 12:25:26 AM
Hello one and all. I'm new to the group and very happy to have found it. I'm doing a 2.3 turbo swap in my 71 sedan using a motor out of a 88/TC. I have most all parts to complete swap including an LA3 computer but will need help with the correct engine harness. I have heard that a harness from a XR4TI is the best choice as it is a stand alone unit but have yet to locate one to verify. Is there another option? Not worried about cutting and splicing if I have to. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Tony

your best bet is the merkur harness, but the big plug will have to be repinned to work with the LA3 computer. Turboford.org is a very helpfull web site for all your wiring info. Welcome to our site!

I have done this. If you check my web site, I have a write up on how to repin the Merkur harness to work the the LA3 computer.
