back in the middle '70's at the shop where i used to work my partner and i used to take old manifolds from datsuns/couriers/toyotas etc and grind out the plenum and weld on an aluminum plate that we had made then welded them to the datsun/courier/toyota manifolds.
the 'new' manifolds would accept a 5200 holley/weber. we designed a set of stamped hardware that would adapt the standard cable on most all of the japanese trucks/cars at the time to the throttle shaft bracket on the holley/weber and included a chrome 9" air cleaner all for the low price of $125.00
it was an exchange deal. you send us your manifold and the cash and we sent you a modified manifold with all the parts including the new holley/weber to boltT on to your ride in a matter of hours.
since we were primarily a custom exhaust systems shop with WD status from many header manufacturers we also sold a LOT of headers for these same projects.
had a deal back then with Competition Specialties and SC Performance to buy the carbs bulk for a ridiculously low price. sold a ton of them
it was a sweet deal.
Hey SRT, I'll take one. Finally got the engine done for my 4X4 Chevy (:reek:) Luv and I would like to have a Pinto carb on it. (OK everyone, settle down, it's really not a chevy, it's an isuzu!! :)) Just tell me where to send the $125 bucks!!
let's see.....where did i put that last kit....??????????
