Hello all,
I just purchased a 78 pinto hatch back.
The engine was rebuilt but not started, I haven't checked that out yet.
car still sitting on the trailer waiting for a clear spot in the shop.
It is complete except for radiator and grill. No rust anywhere I can see.
I intend to get it running first, then drive it around a while to get a feel for what it needs. ;D
Then tear it apart and restore it. ???
I need a radiator for it if anyone had one. [I talked to popbumper about it and he is checking to see if he can get one] also a grill. [I have a grill for a 79-80 pinto that was ordered online by previous owner and of course is don't fit.]
I am new to blogging and this site so if i make a mistake let me know.
I can't figure out how to attach a picture, I hit the insert image button but it just puts a
in the text. Hummmm, the help section says if the feature is enabled you can do it. how do you enable it???????? Help section doesn't help.

Barney:
Great talking with you yesterday, hope we can get together sometime. 78TXPony and I live about 5 miles apart, he has a '78 trunk model (bought new in his family back in the day) that is the same color as my '76. It's cool when he comes over and we park the cars together in the driveway! I have asked him about the parts you need; he may have others for you as well, we stripped a '78 hatch last Spring and pulled most of the parts from it.
Get that car going!
Chris
I have a few little projects left to finish in the shop before I have the room for the pinto, but as soon as I do I will get it running.
how do I attach pictures to this blog?
I hit the "attach image" button and it just does this (http://[img][img][/img][/img]
arrrrrrrggggggg. frustrating. I am using firefox and not internet explorer does that make a difference?
I think I might order the radiator next week.
as soon as I get it running maybe we can all meet in waco or somewhere in between. I would like to see your pintos.
got the 78 of f the trailer today and got the engine started. runs good but no radiator, belts, hoses, vacuum lines are mess, fuel pump ifffie, steering column shot, exhaust not hooked up, you know the usual for a restoration. If anyone knows how to remove the lock cylinder from the column please let me know.
