Title: Under Dash stuff from a 76 Mustang II?
Post by: russosborne on April 06, 2010, 02:09:35 AM
Will anything from a  II fit under the dash of a 79 Pinto? I am going to be scrapping my II project due to rust and don't want to get rid of anything if it will work on the Pinto. The II had ac, etc. Don't have the underhood pieces, but the heater/ac box  and ductwork is in really good shape. I would love to swap in the II dash, but I already know that would be a major pain.

I think the answer is a big no, but thought it worth asking.

Also, how about any sheetmetal? Floors, inner fender wells, radiator support?

I will be keeping the 8inch rear and the aluminum rims, the plan was for them to go on the Pinto all along anyway. I already have a II console in it, just not really attached. I will be grabbing the mounting brackets from the II for that. And I actually like the Pinto seats better than the II seats. I've always liked the high back type for some reason.

No drivetrain, so nothing there to keep. Although should I grab the V6 frame mounts from the II?

Thanks,
Russ
