Title: New Pinto in the stable!!!
Post by: Choptop on April 01, 2010, 11:02:29 AM
Cant wait to pick it up next weekend. 1972 Woodie Wagon. One owner, 44k miles. Honest to pete little old lady car. She recently passed away at the age of 97, she drove the car until she was 94  :surprised:. All records, pics of her with the car. It was one of the first Pinto wagons delivered to the NorthWest and the dealer did not want to let the car off the showroom floor once it was sold as it was the only wagon they had for a display model.

Its got a few little dings and scratches, but otherwise in GREAT shape.

I know I'm being highly unoriginal and redundant here, but WOW! :surprised:   That is one gorgeous Squire!  Enjoy!

not telling   :amazed:

Like I said, its got a few little scratches and a ding... its not perfect, but the overall shape is pretty amazing considering its nearly 40 years old  :hypno:.

I plan on bringing it to FFF at Knots, and of course, Concours d'LeMons in Monterey.

I'll be the one with the drool pool underneath! lol. 1972 is my birth year. I want a '72 Squire too. Thank you for the interior shots. They're Pintolicious! ;D

Congrats, you should find out the old lady's first name and name the car that.  Kind of keeping her memory alive since she took such good care of it.

...anything that does NOT have alcohol in it. Alcohol dries the surface and creates more surface tension, resulting in cracks. That's the ingredient in Armor All that causes damage. Check the content of other cleaners before you apply them.

Looks like I have to let this little gem go. I've got two "holy grail" projects inbound and dont have the room, $, time, energy to keep this one. Its been garaged its entire life, and now would have to sit outside... so its time to let it go to someone that can care for it in the manner to which it has become accustomed :D.

I figured I would post it here first to give fellow Pinto fans first crack at it.

I have many more high rez photos of the car and can take pics of any area you'd like to see.

1972 Pinto Squire Wagon
44k ORIGINAL miles
2 liter
automatic
ALL ORIGINAL
In near showroom condition (*with a few flaws, detailed below)
Metalic Gold Paint shines like new.

One of the best original cars I have seen. Flawless headliner, side plastic, seats, trim. Engine compartment in GREAT shape. All rubber seals original and in great shape. All original glass. Brakes, drums, wheels cyls are less than 10 years old (last major service done by original owner). Engine compartment is clean with no leaks or drips from the engine or tranny.

Runs, drives, starts, stops GREAT.

This car was garaged and pampered its entire life. I will not have room to do so in the very near future and it would be a shame for it to sit out now.

I have the original sales agreement.

New things since I've owned it:
Cap
Points
Rotor
Plugs
Wires
Fuel pump
Fuel filter
Fuel Lines
oil
oil filter
cooling system flush

* Flaws:
A scrape on the passenger side. In the paint and woodgrain. Not structural.
A replacement drivers door pull
A small crack in the padded dash
A small dent behind the bumper on the drivers rear
One tooth missing from grill

I'd like to get out of it what I have in it, nothing more. Not looking to make a profit, just want it to go to a good loving Pinto home.

$2800

Sorry to hear you are letting it go, given the blood sweat and tears I have endured on my restoration I would have gladly traded you $2800 + cost of transportation - and saved money doing so.

Best wishes on your sale.

Thank you Chris for pointing out why other Pinto club members don't care for ArmorAll. That was the question I kept asking...  WHY don't I want to use ArmorAll...  I already bought the Aerospace 303 stuff... I'll have to see whether there's alcohol in it...

If money and space were no object I would gladly snap up that Squire gem. Sadly, I can't garage it though, but I could Aerospace 303 and wax it...

I was seriously contemplating buying it until I found out it is in Sacremento, CA...  $2800 seems fair for the car (and I DO love Squires) but by the time I got it all the way to VA I'd be at $4000+ and that's just not do-able right now.  Oh well ::)

I would really love love love to have this car!!!! Problem is I am saving for a vacation in Oct and don't have that much cash to spend right now!

I am trying to work a deal on another car that I have with a guy that really wants it. So we will see how bad he really wants it!! LOL I told him to buy me this Pinto and he can have my car!!!  ;D ;D So far, he doesn't want my car that bad! LOL

I have 10 pintos as of right now. Out of 10 I only have 1 that runs decent enough to drive out of town and that one needs alot of cosmetic (interior and such) work. Would be nice to have one Pinto that really doesn't need much and runs good as well!

AND what makes this worse (about not haveing the cash on hand) is I live in the same city!!! UGGHHHH

come by and see it. You'll fall in love.

I'll throw in a free registration for the Aug. Concours d'LeMons in Monterey.
