Hi! I'm new here and have a question about tag lights. My husband bought his first Pinto (a 77 hatchback with sunroof) before we were married (in 1988) and we have always had one since. None of them have ever had a tag light. Our son is currently driving my old 1980 and was just given a fix-it order at a patrol inspection station for the light. I can't even find a place to put a bulb. Is there someplace I'm just missing? Help! He works night shift and I don't want him to get a ticket.
If this is a speedo cluster light you are talking about
Tag light to me is the license plate light!
Generally those are in the bumper. I don't know for sure on an 80 though! Maybe someone with the newer models will chime in! :D
It is the license plate light I'm talking about. We are still looking and finding nothing. Will look at the bumper. Thanks for your ideas.
On my 78 the light for the liscenes plate. Well youll have to lay under the back of the car (Atleast on mine) to see it its right above where the plate bolts on has 2 wires ran to it.
Thanks! Think we've found it. Gonna try this and if it doesn't work, I'll be back for more help!
This is the bottom side of an 80 bumper, it is missing light were hole is in center. Fred :)
I'm not sure about later model Pintos or Bobcats but mine have a thick glass lens over the light bulb and socket. Mine are '71-'74 models. ;D
Thank you all. We finally found the right place and got it repaired.
