Hello-
I'm getting ready to do a 351W swap into a '74 Pinto. I ordered a front sump oil pan, and I was wondering if anyone knew up front what mods had to be done to the pan; for instance, the floor of the pan needs to be raised a half inch, notched, etc.
I know i'm going to be cutting and welding, but it'd be nice to have an idea up front so I could maybe get started on the work...
thanks a lot-
Paul
I think there is a web site where someone did that swap. Do a google search for 351 Pinto and see what pop's up.
Oh, I have Googled and Googled...nothing specific. Either someone just bought a modded oil pan (over $200.00 from Total Performance? I don't think so) or the 351W guys I have found bought the engine with the pan already modded...
Ah well. Looks like I'll be dropping the motor in, seeing where it hits the Xmember, taking it out, cut, hack weld, continue as necessary...
Thanks
Paul
